Welcome, from the Cheese Store family! The store was opened in 1977 by Lou Rakita who sold mostly cheese and nuts. As time passed, The Cheese Store became the "go-to" destination for the latest in food trends. We were the first to feature the Pritikin line of foods, Oat Bran Bagels, Fat-Free Cheeses, and innumerable specialty dietary products. After we began selling naturally flavored varieties of iced coffee, our popularity exploded, making the hundreds of iced coffee flavors our most popular item to date.

Our Business

Established in 1977, The Cheese Store of Cedarhurst has been providing the 5 Towns with personal service for more than 34 years. We have introduced the most up to date food trends long before they reach the mass market.

Conceived of, and started by, Louis and Pearl Rakita, they took a huge risk when they both quit their secure jobs and opened what proved to be a 5 Towns legend. Their son, Mitch, is now the face of the store, and you can often find his wife, Barbara, and son in law Ed, working behind the counter.

We make every effort to service each customer's personal needs and preferences. We hope to be able to assist you.

These mini cheesecakes are great for portion control and are only 99 Calories and 1 gram of fat for the entire container!

We have 12 flavors - Chocolate, New York, Cherry, Blueberry, Strawberry, Raspberry, Key lime, Pumpkin, Banana Cream, Coconut Cream, Passion Fruit, & Lemon Meringue.

We also have 3 sugar free flavors- Chocolate Peanut Butter, Chocolate Mint, & Cappuccino Marquis.

There's nothing like a Box O' Joe to make your next meeting or get-together more upbeat and welcoming. Each box is 100 oz., and contains your favorite flavor of hot or iced coffee. Choose from plain, vanilla velvet, hazelnut, chocolate, peanut butter, and many more (over 100 flavors!) What if you want to brew the coffee yourself you ask? Well, we also sell our coffee by the pound. You can buy as the beans or we can grind the beans to fit your personal coffee machine. We ship all over the United States and deliver to New York City by messanger everyday! The photo below is all the different coffee flavors and blends we can make! The possibilities are endless!
